I don't think I could pick a favorite Christmas song. who doesn't love all the traditional songs we've grown up with – all the different versions by various artists.
That being said – I love to find new songs and artists and versions that I've never heard before. Some of these are by a group…Over The Rhine who does variations of old songs and have written new ones. They are in my sidebar along with another artist – Mindy Smith who sings "Santa Will Find You" - a song about family and carrying them in your heart wherever you may be. That's the first song on my playlist.
One song stands out for me, though…it never fails to bring tears to my eyes when I hear the flowing melody of "The Gift" sung by Garth Brooks. This is the only place I could find his version – someone made a slideshow on you tube. If you've never heard it – mute the music on my sidebar and listen – It's absolutely beautiful.
Thank you Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for giving us this prompt for Pink Saturday.
Happy Pink Saturday, Nancy.

Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying every moment of this holiday season.
Have a great Pink Weekend,
Cathy
Enjoyed your choice of songs for today. Nice post for Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteNancy, I certainly enjoyed listening to Garth's song! I had never heard it.....and now I will never forget it. What a moving and touching tune that is. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love your curtains!! Are those tea towels? So adorable. And speaking of adorable...those match boxes you shared from your swap certainly are! So much creativity wrapped up in those little containers!
Yes, today I was out getting a mani and pedi and leisurely dining and drinking while the other fools ran around shopping! ho ho ho. Now, I know you don't believe that!! :) Actually, my friends and I had our annual Progressive Luncheon and Holiday Homes Tour. When they arrived at my home, I was at least dressed and ready, but I was working on the main course we would eat when we returned to my house a few hours later!! My santa tree didn't get put together....they saw the tree with the box of dancing santas still in it!! Tomorrow, I will put those boys on the tree! We're having a little family gathering to celebrate our daughter's recent completion of her RN. I have to get up early and cook...but the house is clean! :)
Have a Merry Pink Saturday!
L, Dana
Hope you have a blessed Christmas!

Hi my darlin friend!
ReplyDeleteAs usual my stop to your spot in the blog land is always such a treat!
Im a music nut as you know and think everyone should have a sound track playing in the background of their life. LOL
Sometimes mine is a sad ol country song but mostly I think it must be a broadway musical :)
May the season bring you joy beyond measure.
Thanks always for your support!
Hugs hon.
