Valentine Wrap Up

February just can’t make up it’s mind weather wise.  First it’s hot, then brutal winds from the south only to turn around with a cold blue norther.  Yesterday, a big huge heavy rainstorm moved in and I thought “finally”. Some good soaking much needed rain. Not to be – it only lasted 30 minutes, then the sun came out and washed away the rain and the itsy bitsy…….not really….I never saw the water spout but it did get sunny and warm.  This morning when we got up it was freezing cold and cloudy and now midday it’s freezing cold and sunny.  February is trying to act like March!  Meanwhile – I know half of the country is under a blanket of record snowfall.  I hope you are all staying warm and cozy and got a snow day from work or school.

Obviously I don’t have much to blog about today or you wouldn’t have gotten a weather report from me! I do have my last Valentine to share.  It’s sooo pretty and it’s from Grace at Pink In The City.

Look how darling.  Grace lives in NYC and has access to places like Tinsel Trading Company. Jealous!!! Have you ever seen their website? They carry things like that gold foil vintage “to my Valentine”. I sort of live a vicarious life of a New Yorker through Grace!

Anyway – I love her Valentine and her glamorous pink life!!!  But now it’s time to pack up the Valentine decorations and look forward to spring and Easter.

Here are some little Bunnies I’m working on for an upcoming tag swap.  My mission this year, if I choose to accept it LOL, is to not buy anything for crafts. I’m trying to make embellishments and use what I’ve got.

We’ll see how that goes.

Valentine Exchange

Eight ladies in my Circle Journal group had a Valentine exchange. Each of us made a Valentine to mail to the other seven.  Honestly – I could do this every month!   I love each and every Valentine – each one showcasing individual talents.  Rather than give a long description of each one you can see for yourself why I love them so much! So without further ado I’ll show you pictures of the ones I received.

Dana’s Valentine had the most adorable pocket holding The Stone Rabbit and a little vintage heart.

 

Jeanne’s card has the prettiest vintage bits of lace, ribbon and buttons.

 

Kathy has a teacup holding a heart shaped teabag made with her own hands and a little blessing note. It’s so very pretty on a paper doily…+ it smelled wonderful!

LaVerne made this fabulous trifold card that I can’t even begin to capture how it folds and looks adorable from any angle!It should be on a rotating carousel!

Shelia used images that I love so much – old school Valentines and the cutest bluebirds all on a pink heart.

My last card will be from Grace at Pink In The City and will probably arrive today.

Pink and Aqua

Have I ever mentioned my favorite color? Turquoise and any shade thereof.  So in the corner of my bedroom I have a little aqua tree surrounded by mostly pink things. Don’t you love pink and aqua? or red and aqua? I suppose any color and aqua looks perfect!

It’s so nice to have a spot where I can put something and actually remember where it is when I need it.

Isn’t this pretty?  It my Christmas card from Grace at Pink In The City and it’s just too pink and pretty to put away.

I’ve got things from prior year swaps, a beautiful lace book – a gift from LaVerne – my circle journal, a favorite little lamp and of course my

turquoise tree. 

 

And remember – if you see cobwebs on the wall….this is a non-judgmental blog.  The lady of the house (me) and the downstairs maid (also me) has been much too busy catching up on all seasons of Downton Abbey to concern herself with house cleaning.
