“Wooden Shoe Be My Valentine”

Don’t you love those old school valentines? They have the cutest sayings.  I’m going to collect some this year just to put on my Valentine Garland.  I’ve looked and looked at Elizabeth’s banner and realized I needed some different shapes beside hearts.

Since I don’t have authentic old Valentines, I made do with copies which I made too small but used anyway attaching them to tags. Then I started looking for things on hand and found an IBB page Sarah had sent in a swap years ago and I found some IBB pages that printed out too big at the time.  Sometimes it pays to be a hoarder!

Reading Elizabeth’s instructions I misinterpreted her “figure eight” meaning. She was talking about the links and I understood a figure eight of the entire chain.  Anyway it worked for me and sort of hangs like those chain belts that swag.

I loved her addition of some cute playing cards and found a darling Holly Hobbie card in my stash. Needless to say – Elizabeth is such a crafty (haha make that crafting) “Good Friend” to share her ideas with instructions.  This is sort of like a charm bracelet to be collected over the years.

And moving on to some “pink” I’m almost ready to mail my Valentines to my Circle Journal Friends. Do you see Beverly’s name? She had to have a pink envelope for Pink Saturday. I get a lot of inspiration from the Pink Saturday blogs.  You will, too, so check them out!

Valentine Garland

Today is Rednesday.  What? You don’t know about Rednesday?  I rarely join in but I love looking at the cute things that the gals over at Sue‘s It’s A Very Cherry World share with their linkys.  Elizabeth at Creative Breathing made the most wonderful Valentine Garland and inspired me to make one of my own.  I don’t have any cute little school valentines (yet!) to put on mine so I used some German scraps to get mine started.  I need to put some bows and bobbles on mine but it’s a work in progress.

I love the things both Sue and Elizabeth make – you will, too, so go get inspired!

My Love Shack

Don’t you love it when it’s time to get out your Valentine decorations? It’s one of my favorites for decorating.  Everything thing looks so cheerful and red and pink and glittery. My house was covered in glitter yesterday along with the dogs and us! I made this little Valentine house.  It was a cast off Crafts Gone Wrong I found at good will painted black.  So I gave it a makeover with lots of glitter and it fits under my big glass dome.

I ordered the “To My Valentine” deal from ebay and just love them – I think they’re from the ‘50s for cakes. I still have a little more glittering to do and I want to make a little banner to hang from the roof. I’m out of pop dots or I wouldn’t have the plaque back on the chimney.

I have to get the rest of my Valentines out. Some are with my decorations that I just got from upstairs.

Here’s one I made when I was making my Circle Journal Sweetheart Valentines. I can’t post those until my Valentine gals get them!

These are from a swap a couple of years ago – one of my fav swaps and here’s one of my all time

Hippie Pink Saturday

I’ve been too busy to post.  Yes, I’ve done nothing but work on critically important things.  Like my Valentines for my Circle Journal Sweetheart Girlies. And my Book of Blue and last but not least my pages for the Itty Bitty Book Club ‘70s book!

DSCN2419
I was determined to not buy anything…nada…nothing…zip!  Since this is my year to purge (stuff not…you know) I worked with stuff on hand.

I could not believe my good fortune to find the happy faces.  Yea for me – purging the happy faces. I need to mail these suckers before I put any more crap on them! Old stickers, foam flowers, laminating sheets. Yep purge, purge, purge. Old stamp pads for that signature tie dyed lookRainbow

As they said in the ‘70s…”All you need is Red heart“ and to purge!

Happy Pink Saturday Hippie Chicks! Peace out Smile.

2013 Thirteen Things

It’s a brand spankin’ new year and I’m glad the holidays are over.  For once I am ahead of the game – we undecorated on January 2. Yea us!  The downside of not getting all your Christmas stuff out is it’s downright depressing.  The upside? You can get it all put away on January 2!

new yr

Did you party hardy New Year’s Eve?  Yeah – me, too.  Actually I watched Four Weddings and played Words With Friends, started reading a new book and was asleep by 12:30 so I could get up early to go see Les Miserables with my husband (for the 2nd time in 3 days!) Love, love, loved it!

I’m not making resolutions but I saw this list on Pinterest and thought these are better than resolving anything.   I need to work on my floooooow – #8 and #12.  I added #13 because I think adding some pink just makes you happier! I hope I can find some worthwhile Pink Saturday things to blog about this year. I need to think of a theme!

Hopefully whatever 2013 brings you this year you will…..
