Christmas Season Begins!

If I didn’t avoid housework I’d never get any blogging done!  And I have sooo much work to do!  But…first things first and I need to finish decorating my blog and for your listening pleasure find some Christmas music so you, too, can get in the Christmas mood!DSC09857

On Saturday Jeff put the Christmas tree up while I washed Christmas linens.

DSC09853and ironed them too!  These adorable days of the week snowman towels didn’t even make it out of the closet last year.   This year is a whole different story.  Our house will be on the Heritage House Christmas Tour so it’s all out decorating this year.

Yesterday I decorated the living room tree and Jeff festooned the porch with garland.  By next week I’ll have all my decorating done!  That’s a big first for me to start and finish this early.  So today when I should have been cleaning and decorating I fiddled around on a swap project and if your name is Lisa and you’re swapping with me do NOT look at the pictures!

I started working on this last October just wishing I could send it to someone special.  So I signed up for Julie’s Vintage Ephemera Swap (my favorite) and found out that LisaLaughs is my partner.  Sometime things just go your way because we’ve been partners before and she is a precious girl.

After finishing the front and filling the little drawers no one had cleaned my house so far so….

DSC09856

I decided to do the back also!  What fun finding tiny little treats.  Of course it’s not going to be there by the first like I wanted but – hey – something in my life has to be late!

And…..should you be in need of a dirty house to clean….mine is available!   xoxo

Moments of Grace

DSC09783It’s nice to be home for a plain old Thanksgiving this year.   Three years ago my sister died and I was planning a funeral for the day after so we just skipped Thanksgiving.  Last year my son got married on Thanksgiving Day and it was a wonderful celebration with family and friends but also had all the wedding preps going on so it’s nice to just be home….with my grandson asleep on the couch, a turkey thawing in the sink, another turkey who went to bed…no wait…that’s my husband. lol  He’s in charge of the turkey and plans an early start tomorrow morning.  My older son will be with his in-laws tomorrow and I’ll miss them but the younger son and his family will be here along with my brother who has aphasia after a stroke two years ago.  That alone makes for an interesting day!

I’m looking forward to having leftovers tomorrow night while I’m watching the Longhorns whip up on the Aggies!

I love the pie plate that I got and since I bought my pies at Sam’s this year this one was wide open for a job!  I love the message on it so I just made a picture out of it and that’s what I wish for you and yours!  Happy Thanksgiving.

Pink Saturday

Well…I’m running out of time and material for Pink Saturday so I thought I’d share some  pictures we took of my Grandson leaving for his Homecoming Dance!  A couple of pink frames qualify, right?

He’s not too old to kiss his Nan!  (I used to be Nanny but now I’m Nan)

Or his Granddad!

He was getting ready to meet his date so we took pictures before he left.   Isn’t he adorable? I mean, uh, cool.  LOL

We just love this guy to pieces but what I can’t figure out is how he got to be fourteen in such a short time????

Thanks for indulging me and my family pictures.  Now if you want to see some more pictures from the rest of our pink family go visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound.    xoxo Nancy

Pink Saturday at The Roost

How about a look at the Pink in our booth – The Roost at The Antique Gallery, today?

DSC09485

This first picture is NOT my booth – it’s Polly’s but I love it and had to share Polly’s pinkness.   Isn’t it the sweetest pink welcome?

DSC09490

This very expensive lamp is in my booth and may come home with me someday.  It just has a beautiful soft pink glow.

DSC09479Here’s a little tree that I decorated with vintage pink glass ornaments and doves that were originally on a wedding cake.

DSC09470

It looks so darling paired with these old perfume bottles.

DSC09472

This is a tray I priced really high hoping it wouldn’t sell – LOL – however it was gone in just a couple of days.

DSC09403

Oh dear how did this get in here…just ignore it!

DSC09392a

And lastly here is this wonderful channel back chair (overpriced)  that hopefully will be coming home with me soon.

DSC09453

So there you go.  A look at the pinkness at The Roost.   Thanks to Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday.

As you can see it’s like pulling teeth for me to put this wonderful pink stuff up for sale.  If you are willing to pay a really high price for anything Pink…well… just stop by The Roost!

Lastly, I’m wishing my husband, Jeff, a Happy Birthday…here’s a pic I took of me giving him his birthday cake.  As you can see I married a much older man!
