So ready for fall and the chance, however small, for cooler weather.

Sooooo – on a different note – what's your weather like????

  1. Well, I think I just may end up being the winner-looser of the day's "How hot was it?" competition...our air con unit died this A.M....the fan siezed up and gave up. The call is in to the repair and relief team...I'll put my baking of bran muffins on hold for now. Don't need to be heating up the kitchen today. Looks like I'm headed to the guest house. I just made a fresh pitcher of tea...help yourself to a glass.

  2. I remember TX weather...and not fondly. Here in OH, we're hot & humid, but today is cloudy & hitting the low 90s. Rain & possibly severe storms are predicted by midweek. Wish I could share some rain with you! Have some lemonade or ice tea...or an ice cold beer & TRY to keep cool.

  4. Not quite so hot - but don't tell the locals, they think it's beyond the out reaches of Hades at 95 - and humid. Wish we could swap a few days so we'd have less damp, heavy air and you could have a little less dry.

  6. Hot here in Florida too - and humid! We did finally get a little rain a week or so ago, & it kinda looks like rain this afternoon. We shall see! Still in drought conditions, but not as bad as Texas.

Solution? Keep a nice snowy winter scene as screensaver & while away some time visiting "cool" blogs!

  8. Ok..I know we have to have some of connection for sure now. I had not visited blogs this week..including yours (I'm sorry....bad week)..but when I saw this one, I just roared. Why? Cuz I also posted about the heat in KC this week...using my phone in one of the photos, too! :)

Tues. was the hottest day here in YEARS in KC...between 108 and 110 in surrounding towns. AND it's still in the upper nineties and oh so humid. Sadly, my son's A/C went out yesterday...they've had it patched up already this summer, but this dreadful weather finally won. Their furnace and A/C have been miserable since they moved into that house, so they really need one that is a good one and more efficient. Of course, they have a two story, high and open entry that is a fuel waster big time, so no matter what they get, they are losing warmed or cooled air. Oh well....it's all about the "style", isn't it? We had lived with a fuel wasting home (though much, much smaller) for years before we built this one. We knew one level (but it has a full basement) was how we wanted to live our golden years...better on the body and much better on the utility bills.

I know in a few months I'll be whining about how cold I am....are we ever happy? Heck, yes, we are..when it's not so blasted hot or freezing cold or pouring raining or piling up snow! :)
