Happy Pink Saturday. It feels like a little holiday once a week now! Lucky you - today you get a tour of my dressing table. But first I have to show you my page for the Itty Bitty Book Club - Vintage Prom Dress. Have you ever seen more shades of pink. I think each of the 30 dresses are a unique color. You know why????? I can't control my watercolors! Recognize the song? Ah yes. "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation"
The back side is a picture from my sister in law Judy's prom and sorry Judy it's waaay vintage! There are some fabulous dresses and if you'd like to see more go here on the Flickr page. Now on to the dressing table tour!
Actually my wicker "dressing table" in my bedroom is a wicker desk turned dressing table. I used to have a wonderful bathroom where I could primp all day long - no more....I have an old bathroom with a pedestal sink and unless I want to go upstairs (nuuuu) I have to share with my husband. (He's the one in the picture with the girly umbrella...my friends are always dressing him as a girl and the quirky part is he always goes along with it...hmmmm???) Anyway - my bedroom isn't pink it's blue and white but I really need a little pink here and there. I know, a longer lampshade, too! So I started adding and altering and now I have some wonderful reminders of my friends. See the cute round thing? That's an oatmeal box (why yes! from my friend the Quaker Oats man!) that I use for a little trash can and it works great! I use the little stationary holder for lipsticks etc and it's covered with some of my vintage paper from Rhonda. Those wonderful clip earrings from Lisa hold little cards and some buttons from my buddy Shannon. My three swap buddies!

The Cath Kidson paper is from Barbara and Judy - it's stationary and I use it for everything (except what it's really for)! I let the blue and white show intentionally but the pink fits right in, No? I really, really love my blue and white. I just can't live without some pink!
This little Limoges box is from Linda - my best friend in Ohio....Look what's in it! It's adorable and I just love it!
Here's one of the few things I have of my mothers - an enamel sugar bowl with little pink flowers! I truly cherish it.
I've decided that it's much more pleasant here than in the bathroom - I can watch tv, I have the ceiling fan, and my garage sale cloudy mirror really makes my skin look years younger! That's it for my fascinating tour. "Envisager" new uses for old things and as Rhonda would say.........
Merci, amis roses! Go see all the other Pink Ladies. Beverly has a list just waiting for you. Adieu - Nanci!
P.S. Visit my newly remodeled store - I have some new stuff!

  2. Nancy, I love the little prom dresses. They are perfect.

You definitely have to keep your blue, but you're right to add in a bit of pink. Pink matches everything.

    Happy Pink Saturday.

  11. Cute pink dresses. Yes, I remember this song well. Heard it all the time in the old old days. You asked what church my husband pastored. No, it was not Lutheran. In fact, I've never even attended a Lutheran worship service and I don't think he has either. The last 18 years of his ministry was with the Independent Christian Church. Before that it was the Church of Christ. We attend a Bible Church now. I'll have to come back and read about the Lutherans.
