Cuckoo Birthday

I’m sure you wanted to hear more about football but nope – I’m going to show you the cutest bank in the world!  In case I never mentioned it I collect those cute bluebirds that were made in Japan in the ‘50s.

I’ve never found any of these bluebirds locally they have all come from ebay or etsy but here’s what super antiquer Jeff got me for my birthday that he found at our own antique mall!

It’s a bank that hangs on the wall and the little pepetual calendar cards had never been opened!

Cutest thing I ever saw!  Just perfect for Beverly’s Pink Saturday.

My Saturday is supposed to be cool with lots of rain…yea.  Perfect day to visit some Pink Saturday blogger buds and watch some Longhorn football!

Hook ‘em Horns!

  1. Ohhhh! Bluebirds!!!! I love the little porcelain birds. I had a few in my collection, but sadly some very bad cats knocked them off their perch...lol! Very sweet gift!

  5. I am LUUUUUUUUSTING for that blue bird calendar! That Jeff. . . what an amazing find!!! I fell in love with the blue birds because of YOU!!! I looked high and low and none around here, cept I did find a Leftton blue bird tea pot in our local antique store for 149.00!!! I passed on that one. However, my wonderful buddy Bonnie has gifted me three blue birds. . .a creamer and sugar bowl and a mug...all Lefton's!!! She got them on Ebay. :)

What awesome weather for HS football, Nancy!! We're having some cooler temps too. Bonnie and I are driving to St. Joseph tomorrow for two sales...then it's back home for me to keep our three little grands overnight! I will be one tired old granny come Sunday evening!! :)

Gotta get to work on sanitizing this house....well, maybe not sanitizing but at least vacuuming and a little mopping of the wood floors. I hate it when I send the youngin's home with very dirty socks after walking around here for a few hours!! :)

Have a great weekend!! L, Dana

  13. Those little birds are so adorable! Lucky you to get such a wonderful gift! Enjoy your perfect football weather. We're here in a sweltering heat wave and longing for fall to arrive! But, since our beloved SF Giants are in the playoffs the rain can wait for a little while!
    Have a terrific weekend!
