A New Pink Caddy

You guys remember my old Pink Caddy don't you?  Guess what?  I got a new Pink Caddy and I took her for a spin.

Want to ride along?  Let's go for a drive down River Road in New Braunfels.

It's a fabulous drive just feet away from the Guadalupe.

Wouldn't it be fun to just……

camp here?

DSCN3605

Just weeks ago the water was about as high as these trees.

Going over the first bridge.

Past some caves……

I'm not a spelunker – how 'bout you? No?  Okay, DSCN3622

let's keep driving

DSCN3624

These cars are flood victims – just scrunched metal.  Beauty can be deadly sometimes.

Looks like a street party waiting to happen.

But we're almost to our destination.

Rio Linda Lodge.  You've seen a lot of beauty for Friday Finding Beauty but here at last is my New

Isn't she a beauty?  We're here to spruce up the lodge for the next visitors.

I, along with my two cabin maid helpers – Jeff and Mike - am taking care  of the lodge and two cabins while my ex best friend dear friend Barbara is out of the country on a trip to Spain.

Yes, friends – I made this bed in the master bedroom

and this one in the guest room….

and this one on the sleeping porch

and for good measure this one on the reading porch!

Such a lovely place right on the river – your own private Island – DSCN3688

just walk outside to go next door to the cabins to

make this bed….

and another one just like it!  And for good measure leave linens for 3 hide a beds!

I don't know about you but my back is killing me!  And I'm not liking this new Pink Caddy so much anymore! So……I….

am hanging up my feather duster and keepin' the old Pink Caddy!

Happy Pink Saturday!  Go visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound if you're not too tired and also stop by to see Claudia at Dipity Road for Friday Finding Beauty…

  1. Now I know where I'm gonna stay if I ever get to your neck of the woods!! My husband and I were in New Braunfels about 12 years ago...we were visiting San Antonio. I recall it being such a beautiful place....does it still have cute antique shops in the older business area? That's where we spent the afternoon. Shopping and eating and enjoying a cold one!! :)

If you ever feel the urge to make another bed, other that yours, just hop in that Pink Caddy, with your new Pink Caddy, and come on up to MO!!! I will gladly have a few beds for you to spiff up!!

Loved my ride and tour !!! L, Dana

  5. Well, not all Pink Caddies are created equal...I think The old one is a lot more fun, but the new one brings home the bacon. The beds look LOVELY! I hope the quests appreciate your efforts. Your pictures of River Road are lovely, but I swear you could make the hen house and chicken yard look good with your pretty posts.

  6. What a fun post! You had me going for a while there, but I do like your new pink caddy! That sure does look like a beautiful place to stay. I love the idea of a sleeping porch, as long as the mosquitoes don't eat you alive!
    Happy Pink Saturday!

  7. Oh Nancy, I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogging buddy lately. It's been eons since I've stopped by. Things are nuts at work, DH and I are starting our own business, Mom's sick, etc, etc, etc! I LOVE River Road, and this was such a fun post. The lodge is gorgeous. A sleeping porch AND a reading porch? Pure heaven if you ask me. Hope your back is recovered, that is ALOT of beds to make. 8. Hey Sweet thing!

What a fun post! Your hard work looks like a great spot for the next lodgers to come and sincerely enjoy their stay. What a gift for them.

Your post was very fun and as always I love stopping by and saying hi.

I apologize for the late stop -- dang life gets in the way sometimes.

Hope you are enjoying your summer AND recouping :)

  9. I love New Braunfels. Had not realized they recently had a flood again. Of course I am 4 hours away, no excuse.
    Like your blog.
I was stopping by to say thanks for coming by my blog. You are right that was an old story. The Hero just adapted to tease me. ;-)
