I love old linens – tablecloths, napkins, bits of lace and when I open my wicker chest. it’s like opening a present….
They hold a lot of possibility – napkins become curtains (and vice versa)
lace from a dress goes into an art project. They are so versatile and just pretty to look at. Honestly – can you ever have too many? I really don’t think so!
I’m joining Claudia at Dipity Road’s ~~ Finding Beauty which she plans to host each Friday. I think it would do us all good to look for beauty each week. Just click on her widget in my sidebar to visit her and the other beautiful participants. Have a beautiful day!
xoxo Nancy
PS – she’s having a fabulous giveaway!

I love your collection of napkins and scarves, I love linen napkins, I still use them as napkins. I just love the feel of cloth instead of paper napkins and they wash up so nicely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your collection.
Molly

My post today is similar to yours - we must be kindred spirits! ::Jill
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but I don't know how all of you cut into those old laces...I have a box full I inherited from family. My husband and I are more on the contemporary side of home decor but still I find such beauty in my box of treasures...I just don't know what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteso dainty. these remind me of my aunt's treasure chest, and the smell of mothballs.:p
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I love your linens. . . and they are beautiful! Don't you just love to think about who used them in the past? I have a passion for them, too. . . .especially old tablecloths and napkins.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful fabric finds!
L, Dana
Your linens are beautiful. It's a funny thing about beauty, it is in the cherished things new and old.

Hi Nancy Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful. I love the basket of linens that you have shared. So pretty. I gather all of the linens and napkins at church sales, yard sales and thrift stores. I probably have enough for everyone on a two block radius, but I refuse to pass up such love. So many people do not realize the time and love that was put into some of these linens. They throw them away like old shoes. How sad?
I have signed up to follow your blog sweetie. I can't wait to see what you share next. I would be so honored if you signed up to follow my blog as well. I would love to stay in touch and blog with you.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI have such a hard time walking away from a great tablecloth or napkins or anything to doll up a table :0)
Love your baskets full...
I have LOVED coming here and seeing all your pretties, sweetpea! I also pack things away in unusual containers like baskets, froufrou-ed up suitcases and lovely old boxes. Just delightful to meet you and visit your wonderful blog, chickee!

Came over from Dipity Road for Finding Beauty. :-)
Well, it seems you and Jill are kindred spirits like she says. I loved seeing all this beauty today and like I mentioned on her post, I have a collection from my mother and grandmother. Guess what? I keep them in a white wicker chest as well! I guess I'm going to join you two in spirit today also. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Nancy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post -- thanks so much for sharing. I have to admit that moving too much has not afforded me a "go to" trunk like you have.
I might have to come visit and "steal" some lovelies... :)
Thanks again for your sweetness... i so appreciate it.
Claudia
Of course there's no such thing as too many linens...or too many dishes, or too much paper, or too many books, but we probably do need to live in an old Gibson's store to house everything we love. Love the new banner... looks like spring already...I must be getting cabin fever, I'm reading gardening books and arranging seed packets by months for planting...
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy! LOVE all your linens and laces here today! I agree.. It DOES feel like Christmas, or opening a gift, to go through them all, doesn't it?!! Happy Friday, and have a wonderful weekend! ~tina
ReplyDeletelove me some linens, too!
ReplyDeleteethereal music...beautiful :)
How pretty all your linens are and I love that wicker chest.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage linens, and yours are beautiful. I wish I had more storage space, barely have room for the regular bed sheets and towels! BTW, finally got started on Cait's old room (just in time for her to move back lol) and the quilt I bought at the junque sale looks GORGEOUS! Are you planning another one anytime soon?? Kathy
ReplyDeleteLook at all your pretty linens and treasures:)
ReplyDeleteYour blog header is so cute!
Happy first week of Spring Nancy!
Hugs,
Kay Ellen
