Gratitude

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer

“Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted–a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.” — Rabbi Harold Kushner

I am truly grateful for:
My family, my friends, my home, my country.  I'm grateful for the beauty that surrounds me. And I'm grateful for the calmness in my life.
I'm grateful to this blogging community of friendship and inspiration.  Thanks to Lynn of The Vintage Nest for the "gratitude" prompt.

  1. Late or not....doesn't matter one bit. Your post was simply beautiful and I am grateful for all my blogging friends today. I loved your sheltie post too. We used to have a mutt sheltie who was such a dear. She used to try and herd the little children. She would actually take their little wrist in her mouth and try and pull them along. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. xoxo

  3. I had given up on you!!! I missed you on Friday and on PSAT, too! However, I'm so glad you posted this gratitude post!! I think you are so right...we just need to be grateful for all around us...especially our friends, family, home and country. I am VERY grateful I have you as a blogging friend. I know in REAL life we would be great buddies!! Maybe one day!

About my run.....NO, NO, NO!! I didn't run the 5K in 11 min. That was the average time it took us to run a mile yesterday. My total time for the 5K was 34 min and 28 sec. I was bummed, cuz I thought I was going faster than that, but my Nike ap on the iPod wasn't correct, I guess.

It was HARD running yesterday.....it started at 8:00 a.m. and we were at the course at 7:00 a.m. I am NOT a morning exerciser!! I have to have spent the day loading up on carbs and caffeine before I move really fast! :)
