My Love Shack

Don’t you love it when it’s time to get out your Valentine decorations? It’s one of my favorites for decorating.  Everything thing looks so cheerful and red and pink and glittery. My house was covered in glitter yesterday along with the dogs and us! I made this little Valentine house.  It was a cast off Crafts Gone Wrong I found at good will painted black.  So I gave it a makeover with lots of glitter and it fits under my big glass dome.

I ordered the “To My Valentine” deal from ebay and just love them – I think they’re from the ‘50s for cakes. I still have a little more glittering to do and I want to make a little banner to hang from the roof. I’m out of pop dots or I wouldn’t have the plaque back on the chimney.

I have to get the rest of my Valentines out. Some are with my decorations that I just got from upstairs.

Here’s one I made when I was making my Circle Journal Sweetheart Valentines. I can’t post those until my Valentine gals get them!

These are from a swap a couple of years ago – one of my fav swaps and here’s one of my all time

Isn’t it just fabulous.  I keep these in a special little box downstairs because they really are so special to me. Be sure and stop by Beverly’s How Sweet The Sound to see if more hearts are showing up for Pink Saturday.

Have a great weekend! xoxo Nancy

  5. OMG...that Valentine house is just the sweeeetest thing EVER!!! Of course, only you would think to create such a masterpiece! The ebay buy is the PERFECT touch to it. . .and to your cards! I can hardly wait to get that one in the mail! I don't have mine made, but I am pretty sure of what I'm going to do. . .and, as you know, that's still pretty early for me!! I have working on the IBBC project. . .it's spread all over my kitchen island. It's too cold to go to my craft room in the basement.

Again. . .I ADORE that house, Nancy. . .and I adore the Valentine I got from you that year, too!! It's hanging on my "inspriration" board right now, but will so be brought up stairs to brighten up my house for Valentine's Day!

Have a fantabulous weekend. It's warm here, but oh so WINDY....making it feel miserable to be outside.

  11. I love Valentines Day...I always have! When I was in grade school I was lucky enough to live in the day when it was not a crime to celebrate it and exchange Valentines and have a beautiful big Valentine box. I remember the years when my mom made the rooms box, and being an artist, hers were always so original and beautiful! Some years we bought Valentines to give out, but I remember the years when we got our all the papers, glue and lacey bits and created our own...
Thank you for such a pretty post that brought back happy memories!

You did good with your cottage!!!!!
