Pinkageaddon

I think this is a great – a local support group of younger women facing breast cancer.  One of their members – Mommyunlocked - wrote this post and I agree – sometimes the pink ribbon becomes about the “pink” and the message gets forgotten – it’s worth reading.

That being said – Beverly’s Pink Saturday bloggers are all about the Pink all year long.  It’s nice looking at the world through our pink/rose colored glasses sometime!

Have a great week – xoxo Nancy

  2. What a great article you linked us to, Nancy. She clearly hit the nail on the head about businesses using the PINK of breast cancer awareness to promote their products. I think it was last year that I shared, on a post, the packaging of compact fluorescent bulbs, in PINK, while the the text on them described the dangers of the mercury inside the bulbs and how careful you have to be with them. So. . .they linked a potentially hazardous product with Breast Cancer Awareness. That turned my stomach. Now, don't get me wrong, I've turned into a PINK girl over the last four years, but I, too, get upset how many folks have used the idea of "awareness" of breast cancer to turn a profit for themselves.

I hope you've had a great weekend! Mine could not have been any more PACKED. You know about the cemetery run yesterday morning, which was preceded by Bonnie's Witches Party on Sat. Then last night we had folks over (including three that had been at the run) for beef stew, home made rolls (I didn't make them, but fortunately I have a friend who LOVES to bake) all sorts of desserts AND some mighty fine liquid refreshments. . .which I needed after the last two days!! :)

Now that Halloween is nearly here (I think I'll get to see the little grands on Wed. night in their attire!) I need to hunker down and prepare for my last sale. . .which is the first of Dec. Of course, before I do that, I have to complete Kay's book. . . .which I hope to start this afternoon.

It's FREEZING in our house. We're too cheap to turn on the furnace just yet, so I'm decked out on many layers. . .I feel like the little boy on The Christmas Story!! :)

    Gotta get ready for church.

Have a great day. ..and I just saw your tabs on your blog. . .that you're selling your wonderful blessing rings!! I love mine so much!!!!
