This is the booth next to our booth The Roost. Gosh – the stove is so cool by itself but what I just fell in love with are the two things on top.
I don't think I've ever seen anything like the skillet and covered casserole on the burners…no wonder things food was so tasty in the fifties. It was cooked by Happy Homemakers in pink! First mixed up in a pretty pink mixer.
I'm sure little munchkins were keeping their cute selves entertained on a pink tricycle just like this one.
On another note my grandson, Q, is playing in the national championship baseball tournament this weekend. So in keeping with that for July I'm celebrating Baseball – our national pastime- for Elizabeth's Happy Homemaker year long tagalong.
I used some vintage images and stitched it all on the sewing machine.
Using the Title Words from the sheet music for the song we all know and love I stitched them down the side. On my tag I tucked a little picture of my grandson showing off his state championship ring.
and on the other a copy of an old baseball card.
That's a hand fan that they are resting on. Tomorrow night is the opening ceremonies at the Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express.
I hope I can survive the heat! Keeping my fingers crossed for The Action Baseball Team. Good luck guys.
xoxo Nancy

It's hot in KC...and going to get hotter as the days progress over this weekend. Oh,well, it is JULY...and I'd rather have heat than -10 degrees!

ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous share today. I have hopped on that pink tricycle, look out here I come. Oh my gosh, I have to swing by that stove and take a closer look at that mixer. I need a nice mixer too, mine is wearing out fast. Love that skillet as well. Yes, I believe you have discovered the secret as to why they were such happy homemakers in the 50's. I too believe it is the pink. Has to be.
Now those tags you have created are right on out of the ballpark. I love them, you did an awesome job.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for the beautiful Pink Saturday share. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry

That pink tricycle makes my heart sing - what a gorgeous mix of style, design and fun. The mixer, pan and casserole dish are yummy. Perfect for Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy! HPS! I love your vintage photo finds, but I must say that tricycle takes the cake. It looks brand new! I have never seen one in that design before. And, that skillet and casserole is from the late 50's early 60's a neighbor had those and I loved em. They reminded me of candy...hey I was just a kid.
ReplyDeleteWhat cool stuff, especially the trike. What's the story on that, anyway? I'd love to know more about it.
