Happy Christmas 2013

Oh my…it’s been almost a month since I’ve posted. I actually tried last week and got distracted and now I can’t find that unfinished post.  So shall  I walk you through the past month in pictures?  First up on a sad note both my Longhorns and Undefeated Buckeyes lost their game. We did have a good time getting together, wearing our shirts that my sons collaborated on. Longhorn + Buckeye = Buckhorn. hahaha

My big grandson who is away at college is missing…but the young one was here.

Jeff finished the wall in the living room. He tore off the plasterboard and exposed the shiplap behind it. I noticed on Pinterest that people are buying old shiplap and covering their walls and this is behind all the walls in our living room. The rest of the house has bead board walls. I griped about the living room not having it until he finished the shiplap and I really like it.

The Ohio State shrine came down and Christmas went up!

The past few years I have done the living room tree in mostly silver and the past few years I’ve not put up but one tree meaning all my favorite ornaments from decades past stayed in a box upstairs. This year I put it all one tree. I like it!!! This poor old tree is 18 years old and every year I plan to get a new one but I’m attached and would feel disloyal!

Then I got ready for our YaYa Christmas get together.  I wrapped their presents…

Couldn’t find my snowman towels (like a lot of things I couldn’t find) so made do with towels I could find for my “curtains”

We all went to the Texas Lutheran Choir’s program at St. Martins in Austin – it was sooo beautiful. Came back to my house for a gourmet dinner of tuna potato chip casserole and waldorf salad…nod to the 1960s! Then we had tea. LaVerne brought a fabulous tea from Spain or Portugal or some other country – who can keep up with the jetsetting crowd! Anyway it was wonderfully delicious.

Don’t we look festive…just love these girls to the moon and back. We’ve been friends all of our lives.

Last night was my church ladies Christmas Bunco party. It was so much fun.  They look nice enough but don’t be fooled…they steal in the blink of an eye. I had three fabulous presents in the gift exchange and had two stolen from me! haha

That’s pretty much it for me for December so far.  Sorry Beverly that I have been MIA for Pink Saturday. Do stop by her place if you want to see a beautiful Christmas home tour.  Hopefully I’ll be able to visit all the Pinkie blogs this weekend.  I wish you all a most blessed Christmas.
xoxo Nancy…from my house to yours!

  6. Goodness, you have shared so much! I feel like I have known you for a long while! I always hate to see my teams lose but you all have the spirit so it happy to see how much you love those Buckeyes! Your Christmas decorations are wonderful. I really love the painting! A treasure for sure. How fun you shared a wonderful time with many friends. It is always hard to find extra time during this season. I have taken many shortcuts this year because I refuse to be miserable when the big day arrives. Have a beautiful Christmas and enjoy those you love.

  7. Shame, shame on ME!! I read this awesome post some time ago and DIDN'T leave a comment!! I must have been exhausted from Christmas preps and passed out as soon as I read it and seriously thought I'd said something to you!!

ANYWAY..OMG I LOVE all of your vintage Christmasy stuff. I have a Tom and Jerry set very similar to that! I just love those things!! Sadly, it stayed out of sight this Christmas.....as did many items. I hope to pull it out first thing next year! And, Nancy, those Santa glasses are just outstanding!! I've never seen those....ever...and I feel pretty knowledgeable on old Christmas stuff!!

Your YaYa and Bunco Group just look like sooo much fun, even though some of them "steal" ! :)

Your grandson is just adorable and so are you and Jeff in your shirts!! Our MIZZOU team plays tonight....sure hope they can do well. Of course the Chiefs play tomorrow....and ya never know which Chiefs team will show up! Sure would be nice if the team that plays hard and smart would make the appearance!! :)

Gotta make a phone call.....I'lll be back to comment on your PS!
