Today we took a trip deep into the Texas Hill Country. Leaving the main road
The road just kept getting smaller
We drove and drove for about 25 minutes.
Through some slow moving goats…
Over lots of cattle guards…
2 electric gates…
Past rocks and cactus…
on and on through the hills
down a long and winding road.
All because I happened across this ad.
As you know we lost our Lillygirl a few weeks ago. We really were not looking for a dog yet but out of the blue we saw this ad on KiJiJi and I couldn’t believe my eyes. A female sheltie 2 years old named Lillie! What are the odds?? I think we were meant to have her!
So at the end of the road in the valley lives Ann Debo…sheltie queen of Texas. She breeds and raises the most beautiful shelties. Here’s Lillie, her mother, grandmother and Ann.
Sweet dogs, sweet lady
And this sweet Lillie Lousie came home with us.

Oh Nancy... that's the best story I've read all week! What are the odds... you are right... God sent you there and gifted Lillie to you... though I'm sure she wasn't a "gift" in the fiscal form... but a gift in the physical form...
ReplyDeletewonderful wonderful new beginning! blessings. Dixie
What a sweet story! Thanks for sharing it with us!

ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful blessing and how wonderful that you have your sweet Lillie. Love the story. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh, Nancy---what can I say? My heart just skipped a beat in happiness for you and your newest little love. She is a beauty and I know she is thanking her lucky stars that you traveled over hill and dale to bring her home with you. I know you will have lots of loving days ahead with her......L, Dana
ReplyDeleteWell, she may not know it yet, but by the end of the week, she will begin to understand that she is one of the luckiest little girls in Texas! I love her sweet, intelligent face!!! She's going to be a great one!!! What will her signature be? I think of bright pink bows for Lilly, and of course, Molly's "cool-dog" bandanas. It will be interesting to see how Lillie Lou finds her unique trademark.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations...you're right about how things that are meant to be, will be. We're so happy you looked at that ad and found that exact dog that ya'll are supposed to have. Can't wait to meet her. LaVerne
How adorable is she! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOh Nancy, I was so happy to read this. What a beautiful girl, and what are the odds of her being named Lillie? What a wonderful day for you (and her! - she is one lucky gal) The picture of her with (I'm assuming) your husband just melted my heart. Blessings to you and your new fur baby. Hugs, Kathy
ReplyDeleteOh Jeff, haven't seen your eyes sparkle like that since 1965 when you met your 1st love...can't wait to meet our new little "puppy niece".

Nancy, that is SO wonderful! I believe too it was God's hand! What a beautiful baby you have there, congrats! My newest baby Ollie is a little sick this week, I thought he'd be feeling better today but not too much so I took him to the vet again today, he said to give him another day with meds and see how he's doing tomorrow, I hate to see him sick, he's so lethargic.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on the new baby at your house! Suzie Button

I've had two shelties...Brandy and Betha....I miss them. Now I have two very independant Terriers...not even close to the same sheltie personality.
