MaryAnn died about five
years ago but is remembered by so many of us through the art groups that she
started.</span><br />
<span style="color: blue; font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
For years now I’ve been in the Itty Bitty Book Club. Our founder – Mary Ann was
diagnosed with cancer a few month ago and it happened so fast – she’s gone. I
met her on Flickr when she first started hosting IBBs. I’ll always regret
missing the very first book but made sure I was entered on time after that. She
had just finished a book and told us she was taking a break because of her
illness and we all assumed she would get treatment, go through chemo and
recover. After all – she was young. It didn’t happen that way, however, and the
next thing we knew we were making one last book – in her memory.<br />
Her Blog was Follow Your Bliss.<br />

Here are some pages that others did. I love the Tree of Life page.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-tCipNQJ-X-0/U5IXNCfbrNI/AAAAAAAAmLc/13I1l0QurLQ/s1600-h/DSCN5356%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5356" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-P-uoEVim_qQ/U5IXN1hdxJI/AAAAAAAAmLk/WrHJID_3iGk/w421-h316/DSCN5356_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5356" width="421" /></a><br />
This is
<a href="http://riversidestudios.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">LaVerne</a>’s
page – it’s so pretty and meaningful.<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-yawQT22Xq8E/U5IXO8SvPZI/AAAAAAAAmLs/YoAsNi4LlB8/s1600-h/DSCN5357%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5357" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-lTmw7EHb3ew/U5IXP1rVbVI/AAAAAAAAmL0/2H8tuBMck7E/w421-h316/DSCN5357_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5357" width="421" /></a><br />
This is mine – I used one of MaryAnn’s watercolors as a background surrounded by
quotes I found throughout her work.<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-IzySyb2WuWs/U5IXQb87T2I/AAAAAAAAmL8/XMX7WtbBN3w/s1600-h/DSCN5359%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5359" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-IgoDiTSMQMU/U5IXRVIx-kI/AAAAAAAAmME/qH9Ro_qRtC0/w421-h316/DSCN5359_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5359" width="421" /></a><br />
While MaryAnn was sick we were making another “Love” book to send to her. Little
did we know that time would run out. My friend Rhonda from Rhondamum was
coordinating this and when MaryAnn died she had such a struggle to finish this
book and on top of that was pulled into service to plan a memory book for her
and her family. I am so grateful to Rhonda for doing this. I hope she knows how
much it helped all of us. <br />
My pages for the Love book are made from old envelopes from the 1940’s and
earlier. I love the feathery old handwriting in ink.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Ig6NoPXL8tI/U5IXTDzbT3I/AAAAAAAAmMM/qsQjb2UQeR8/s1600-h/DSCN5363%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5363" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-20UAj-OJQ0g/U5IXT8uB2vI/AAAAAAAAmMU/QueBLZjyzmI/w421-h316/DSCN5363_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5363" width="421" /></a><br />
The stamps were perfect for a pastel, sepia themed book.<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-BrbxpreyHT4/U5IXVP7QY-I/AAAAAAAAmMc/vyIZiVp04YU/s1600-h/DSCN5364%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5364" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-qZopknpdDPM/U5IXWBIEFXI/AAAAAAAAmMk/qrxbsPdMdzc/w421-h316/DSCN5364_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5364" width="421" /></a><br />
This is just a few of my IBBs. They are a treasure to me and a tribute to
my friend, MaryAnn.<br />

Yes, that would be manageable but it seems that I missed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Maybe I’ll just write something when I change out the round shelves! Actually I don’t even think I decorated these shelves at Christmas. I did good to get a tree up. But my valentines made by my friends and my circle journal group I absolutely treasure. They could be out all year and I’d be happy but then there’s Easter and eventually back in the case they go. <br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-OlB6MA-aZ8k/VNf8R3sNAYI/AAAAAAAAnhM/mMECOQ2M9tU/s1600-h/DSCN5746%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5746" border="0" height="300" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-ajjhvYeYfjM/VNf8S9lW8MI/AAAAAAAAnhU/5NfvA33gEnk/DSCN5746_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5746" width="400" /></a><br />
How do you like my little cutouts? As I find old pictures that were enlarged I’m putting them on tagboard and making little people. That’s my big sister and me and behind that my giant pouting son. <br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-p4cHf6zmvl0/VNf8TpTwBHI/AAAAAAAAnhc/WddEGPj5dEw/s1600-h/DSCN5747%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5747" border="0" height="300" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-3A_tqVRBHII/VNf8XFRc9hI/AAAAAAAAnhk/Qk-lIJOeihk/DSCN5747_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5747" width="400" /></a><br />
See the little Mary E book? My daily journal from last year? I maintained it for ohh……5 days! So I turned it into an album of the tons of wallet sized pictures of my grandsons and doodled frames. The closest I ever came to maintaining a journal would be this very blog for what six years or so and that’s not going swimmingly now.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-bITzDSL-Qs8/VNf8YIr2uKI/AAAAAAAAnhs/s3obcCJn5n4/s1600-h/DSCN5749%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5749" border="0" height="316" src="https://lh6.ggpht.com/-94VKlBtd6Gs/VNf8Yp7kJpI/AAAAAAAAnh0/fjqk5mhOgas/w421-h316/DSCN5749_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5749" width="421" /></a><br />
I kept my candy boxes during the big V Day purge last year. So glad I did. <br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-E-HBI2L6OJY/VNf8ZcL8JwI/AAAAAAAAnh8/s4LQ7zu5tRA/s1600-h/DSCN5750%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5750" border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-NEuTLVJbVqs/VNf8aKWXq0I/AAAAAAAAniE/dUEzKtjsIOg/DSCN5750_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5750" width="400" /></a><br />
I’m definitely going to host another Valentine swap next year.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-teQPkxVX-Fo/VNf8al2s-AI/AAAAAAAAniM/1t5kMmoCUYw/s1600-h/DSCN5753%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5753" border="0" height="300" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-sa2As2pyZM8/VNf8bZTHL-I/AAAAAAAAniU/wz9AlKM1WE8/DSCN5753_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5753" width="400" /></a><br />
I totally love all the pinkness on this table along with the turquoise/aqua/teal. I could live my life in turquoise – it just makes me happy!<br />

I used to be able to blog about nothing and it was effortless but it’s been so long that blogging about nothing took a lot of effort today! Anyway, just in case I don’t make it back for a while Happy Hearts Day to you! <br />

First of all…Hellooo! I’ve missed you guys! I have not done anything on this poor little neglected blog for months and months. So what have you guys been up to? I’ve been busy working on some projects that are now finished. Thank goodness. I’ve also put myself in self imposed isolation. Nope – I don’t have ebola but I have not only neglected the blog…I’ve neglected the house so I’m not going anywhere until I get things back in order. I’m still paring down all the “stuff” and every time I decorate I’m trying to only keep a couple of boxes. Anyway – I got the Halloween/Fall “stuff” out in time for all the Halloween Hops!<br />
What would I do without these round shelves? I just don’t seem to have the places to put things anymore! That’s my little grandson dressed up as Buzz Lightyear for Halloween….Halloween 1997! Still one of my favorite pictures of him.<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-VfMEIKLamF8/VEqv7a7F7uI/AAAAAAAAm7E/G9JZr-qplSw/s1600-h/DSCN5455%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5455" border="0" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-uCrBXLDDNFI/VEqv8nk0j8I/AAAAAAAAm7M/z2zPzWop-Ww/DSCN5455_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5455" width="400"></a><br />
That Pumpkin Man I had forgotten about. He probably wondered if he was on the purge list and now he’s got that scaredy cat grin on his face thinking he dodged the bullet!<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-RCoylfbbS8c/VEqv9_rLLiI/AAAAAAAAm7U/h2va6OgbQTk/s1600-h/DSCN5460%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5460" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-cAPxvoStmSo/VEqv_JosDlI/AAAAAAAAm7c/W8EJrt1LvD8/DSCN5460_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5460" width="400"></a><br />
I love this guy – so he’s safe while I’m around. Now see the dust on that Mary Englebreit chair? I thought I cleaned it so it’s a good thing I’m blogging to catch myself on these oversights – haha.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-xRXAehXMVDY/VEqwAWRS_bI/AAAAAAAAm7k/hW1nDCvh4dQ/s1600-h/DSCN5461%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5461" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-CrnKCdoIGM4/VEqwBb57sgI/AAAAAAAAm7s/Bg2ZmTF-DPg/DSCN5461_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5461" width="400"></a><br />
Remember this piece? I bought this at an auction dirt cheap because the glass doors on each end were broken. It’s narrow so it works for me in this room. How about the Dave Ramsey book on one end and the ledger books on the opposite end? I should have had that book about 50 years ago because those ledger books don’t contain financial plans or budget…I’ve turned them into picture albums of my grandkids!<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-K__FtDg31WA/VEqwCh3CCkI/AAAAAAAAm70/3_jvDHGzsmw/s1600-h/DSCN5452%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5452" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-meN0ker_hps/VEqwDlHyn0I/AAAAAAAAm78/i5jmYJaMP-w/DSCN5452_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="286" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5452" width="400"></a><br />
Great way to save all those years and years of school pictures and prom pictures of the kids and grandkids.<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-sx-lJ0LVRZE/VEqwE-3qiyI/AAAAAAAAm8E/3VppPor5eMw/s1600-h/DSCN5462%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5462" border="0" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-a8GDsw9ofl4/VEqwF0Xy2-I/AAAAAAAAm8M/RVJgol79G6M/DSCN5462_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5462" width="400"></a><br />
I love this tiny little painting but with the orange color it doesn’t go with anything in my house except in the fall.<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HBeS4b-O2XE/VEqwGtAWhSI/AAAAAAAAm8U/D-eBvOT1RJU/s1600-h/DSCN5464%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5464" border="0" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-tyxSGA1WWSI/VEqwH0IK5nI/AAAAAAAAm8c/qLAVHULWvtM/DSCN5464_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5464" width="400"></a><br />
So I just keep it with that stuff and bring it out once a year!<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-SkMd6IJsVDI/VEqwI9VquOI/AAAAAAAAm8k/qhgr_Uk1KEc/s1600-h/DSCN5463%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5463" border="0" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-DzAO54Cu_bE/VEqwJ44P7DI/AAAAAAAAm8s/Qxog2wvl8ZM/DSCN5463_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5463" width="400"></a><br />
Same thing with the Jim Shore cat! I picked him up for nothing at a Goodwill and he comes out once a year. I think a lot of people must get Jim Shore things who have no idea of the value or just don’t like his work because they seem to be easy to find!<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-d6hB-921GVc/VEqwKnpaY4I/AAAAAAAAm80/5nAs6Webom4/s1600-h/DSCN5465%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5465" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-oUVd1wsJ9BY/VEqwLpnGxoI/AAAAAAAAm88/7ftkhNTsu2E/DSCN5465_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="300" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5465" width="400"></a><br />
The ME teapot and cups stay out most of the year. Black and white dots or checks??? They go with everything. That’s it for my tour de halloween today! I hope to stop by and see what everyone else has been doing.<br />

My computer - a corupt file uploaded to my computer from ... of all places...my McAfee program. It completely wiped out wireless detection. I was fortunate that I really didn't lose anything important like my photos but I did lose some programs. It also wiped out my husband's wireless, my Kindle wireless, my phone wireless and McAfees fix did not work. I was <i>crippled </i>without my computer - addresses, appointments and oh yeah...the wireless printer so I had to actually <i>go</i> to the post office and physically pay for postage. I got the new Dell back in time to post my pictures of Susan's Heart To Heart Journal.</span><br />

Her blog is <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com" target="_blank">How Sweet The Sound</a> and on that site I have met some of my best blog, Facebook and art buddies. Thank you Beverly for bringing me into your World of Pink! Were it not for Pink Saturday I probably would have stopped blogging completely by now. I’ve written just under 600 posts over six years now. When we had the antique store I always had things to write about and some really interesting pictures. So rather than just stop completely I’m just posting a lot less frequently these days. Unfortunately for you guys…I will never run out of my old pictures that I can show on here! So on that note….</p> <p>I’m pulling out one of my most favorite pink pictures today. This is over 18 years ago at a nursery in Austin. What’s not to love about a herd of Pink Flamingos with my little grandson in the middle of them.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-LUVdjYu0Bck/U3-Wp-AdMaI/AAAAAAAAmJo/9iRNJs8yqs8/s1600-h/Baby-Brandon24.jpg"><img alt="Baby Brandon2" border="0" height="260" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-L1g7lQQrbd0/U3-Wq1a2eRI/AAAAAAAAmJs/2FklAXg1SqM/w400-h260/Baby-Brandon2_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Baby Brandon2" width="400" /></a></p> <p>He was absolutely adorable! I’ve been putting my 50+ years of pictures in order and I can’t believe that I’m almost done. I finished my Christmas book which was a huge accomplishment! In another unfinished art album from an online class I took and completed <em>one</em> page….I converted into a timeline of wallet and school pictures of my two sons and grandsons. And then since I was on a roll I made an album out of an old accounting ledger and filled it with those 3 x 5 and 5 x 7 portraits. The 4 x 6 prints of which I have multiple prints of the same thing went into different sets for various people. I punched a hole in the corner, put them in order by date and ran a ribbon through them or used a binder ring. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-L7rQzWO3rrg/U3-WrYx6dUI/AAAAAAAAmJ4/xuizZ0_6b6Q/s1600-h/Baby-Brandon14.jpg"><img alt="Baby Brandon1" border="0" height="268" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-muDGRp7P6uE/U3-WtLgKOwI/AAAAAAAAmKA/wt2mZy-pDg8/w400-h268/Baby-Brandon1_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Baby Brandon1" width="400" /></a></p> <p><strong>“I've at times in my past been so unhappy, and thought, like, 'I would give anything for this not to be happening.' And, you know, as people say, time passes, and then you think, 'I'm kind of glad that happened to me.”</strong></p> <p>That is what I tried to tell my little guy in the middle of the flamingos this week as he worries about his college angst. Some of the best things and people in my life came out of circumstances I absolutely didn’t want to happen and now…I wouldn’t change a thing.<br /></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-2_ym_LbLs1g/U3-WuaD9-aI/AAAAAAAAmKE/pNYdj0uCUgc/s1600-h/image3%25255B1%25255D.png"><img alt="image" border="0" height="178" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-r64qgwk5qNI/U3-WuwDGPXI/AAAAAAAAmKM/fc5c6JHLoOg/w400-h178/image3_thumb.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="image" width="400" /></a></p> <p>to all of my blog friends along with Beverly for sharing ideas, projects, your kids and grandkids, and your homes with me. They’re perfect in front of the forsythia Jeff painted back in the ‘70s. I actually had a post for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a> but with the new design the Linksky says I have no pictures. Maybe posting from Windows Live Writer will work. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-_4jyKtdoV4g/Uz9QuXSaj7I/AAAAAAAAlqk/7FLWbH7xqYU/s1600-h/DSCN5173%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5173" border="0" height="382" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-yicdPU5zi7o/Uz9QvvjLxxI/AAAAAAAAlqs/JkvrnVXibS4/w526-h382/DSCN5173_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5173" width="526" /></a></p> <p>It didn’t – I just uploaded a picture to the link from my computer. You can add pictures from your Google Pictures. They added the snow - haven't a clue how or why!<br />
You can add pictures from your phone although I don't recall taking the snow image with my phone. <br />
Or you can upload from your computer. I'll look around and see more settings on it and see how it works out. (Didn't but I did figure out why the text was on the side)</div>

Every so often I would get a few pictures organized and then would lose track of them and more years would go by. Several years ago I bought a program that scanned my old slides into my computer. This year I’ve tackled the never ending boxes of photos. I sorted through boxes and boxes of pictures and put them somewhat in order. Then I started scanning and editing and uploading to Walgreens. I tried Snapfish and it was sooo slow. Then I tried Walgreens and it was lightning fast so I that’s who I decided to use. It took time, lots of time, to figure out how I wanted to arrange them, write what I wanted to write and choose which pictures I wanted to used. I liked the backgrounds Walgreens had but didn’t like them not having embellishments you could add. And just like magic about half way through they added a new feature…embellishments! So of course I had to go back and add some. Then, for some reason most of them disappeared! I already had a bunch in my “folder” and they were okay but I wish I had grabbed more while they were there!<br />
Anyway, it turned out like a timeline of our life together and just amazed me to look at the screen of all the pages at once. I mostly have a page for each year and hit the highlights – where we lived and when we moved. The birth of our sons…and then our grandsons. I took a screenshot to show you!<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-UhK-o_Qp-gY/UzTMFNHiIpI/AAAAAAAAliI/1z_CI3h71oM/s1600-h/christmas%252520book%2525202%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="christmas book 2" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-L2uSqpfhLyc/UzTMF3BvaqI/AAAAAAAAliM/JmJEYK9EOgk/christmas%252520book%2525202_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="182" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="christmas book 2" width="400"></a><br />
For some reason I had trouble with a few ‘90s years so I consolidated those. I wanted to use a picture of our old house in Ohio as a background for a page and it just wouldn’t work so I just made the page in Photoscape in an 8 x 8 size and uploaded the whole thing and OH MY GOSH…hindsight. That’s the way to go. This was an edit so all the pages were done by then!<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-0B3TBEgiJn0/UzTMGenVZ-I/AAAAAAAAliU/_ZSxE4orRz4/s1600-h/oldies160%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="oldies160" border="0" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-AwuUDETntyc/UzTMHeW3XVI/AAAAAAAAlig/179YcE2hVkI/oldies160_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="400" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="oldies160" width="399"></a><br />
Then I just added some more writing and embellishments once I uploaded it. I wanted the borders of the pictures to show with dates on a few but most were cropped.<br />

And here’s my grandson 31 years after that in 2001 with the old Santa. There’s Big Lilly – she always wore a pink bow. That’s something else I worked in…all of our dogs.<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tM1RHsKPncw/UzTMONznjiI/AAAAAAAAljo/hVml2tyCdrs/s1600-h/image%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="image" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-rW4UGSwGE1c/UzTMOmQ8QlI/AAAAAAAAljw/oLQfVHhvfBM/image_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="400" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="image" width="338"></a><br />
1980 – I couldn’t find a family picture so I used one of those we had taken at one of those dress up studios where you don’t smile and added a frame and holly and used it. I do have a picture of our tree from every year from ‘65 to 2013.<br />
I can’t wait to get this book and now I’m regretting not shipping 2 day but after all the work I ordered the lay flat extra thick pages, custom cover and I had 44 pages which made the shipping double so the whole thing got pricy even with 40% off it was $70. I’ll add one page on the back cover next Christmas so the title will be true…A Half Century of Christmases!<br />

I haven’t written in it since mid January. After two weeks of writing down daily activities I realized I didn’t want to leave anything behind chronicling just how mundane my day to day life is! I’ve moved on to bigger more lofty goals…organizing, dating and scanning pictures of the last 48 years of married life. If you are newlyweds of 10 or 20 years or have a new baby (or puppy) for God’s sake date those prints. Keep them in one place and beware of making 5 prints of the same picture because it’s really hard to pitch them even though you have three more just like them. I really love digital pictures – 20K images on your computer take up a lot less room than 20 boxes of prints! Here’s one I loved but hated to keep because of some ex in laws. <br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-KjmSK472BLQ/UxnuKmNK40I/AAAAAAAAlTo/UfopmMJeZC8/s1600-h/trevinos%252520%252526%252520reebs%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="trevinos & reebs" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-_nilkLNpGL4/UxnuLw-2fZI/AAAAAAAAlTw/mjq4vtl5Gt8/trevinos%252520%252526%252520reebs_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="377" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="trevinos & reebs" width="400"></a><br />
This gives you a really bad example of “photoshopping”. My husband and two sons are the three on the left – me on the right (<em>in pink</em>!) and 2/3’s of the Trevino family sandwiched in between. I had to move one son over and remove the body of the other <br />
which caused a wardrobe malfunction for Taryn! Anyway I saved what I wanted and it can go in my timeline of happy memories!<br />
I’m doing a box of pictures for each son and grandson and I’m going to bind them together by decade or occasion and give them to them. I keep finding pictures of friends along the way and the really old ones I’m scanning and sending them in an album on FB or emailing.<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-2lt0OAv1CwI/UxnuM0QZmhI/AAAAAAAAlUA/NHoNrDXfh6E/s1600-h/lynn%252520%252526%252520me4%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="lynn & me4" border="0" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-u8Ha0-o2qBo/UxnuNtJpl3I/AAAAAAAAlUI/UDJEVt4W2vw/lynn%252520%252526%252520me4_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="396" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="lynn & me4" width="400"></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-NzEZ5dCZC1k/UxnuOcWlA0I/AAAAAAAAlUQ/kJMsUETUpVg/s1600-h/middle%252520age%252520sock%252520hop%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="middle age sock hop" border="0" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-CfmLvbBrPUk/UxnuPEKBzPI/AAAAAAAAlUY/sURNq1WMAPo/middle%252520age%252520sock%252520hop_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="400" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="middle age sock hop" width="290"></a><br />
I had forgotten about these from pre marriage 1964 pics and still living in the past in 1990! One is Mad Men in real life and the other a middle age sock hop! That’s me on the left and in the middle. I can also keep a chart of my weight gain and loss over the years.<br />

This is a good example of the weight chart or maybe the stock market or possibly seismic activity! Up down, up down, down down, up up up!<br />

Lessons I’m learning about myself? One – I have never lost my love of big hair and two…when I’m with my girlfriends I’m just about always laughing. Those will have to wait.<br />
I’m chronicling some of these here and trying to find a little something pink to share for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a>. <br />
Have a great week, or decade…or score!<br />

That meant I had to make some room and do some cleaning and organizing. I found this giant bluebird that I had bought to use in The Roost and that was several years ago. Wish I had a dozen more and I could have just hidden all the shelves which is what I used it for – hiding stuff!</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-FgAp37YPVXw/Uwewq4KyrUI/AAAAAAAAk9U/CaNI1CvvsuA/s1600-h/DSCN5105%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5105" border="0" height="494" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-hC6YyDUzcpU/Uwewr3hZZEI/AAAAAAAAk9c/WQWRj_EDXnI/w602-h494/DSCN5105_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5105" width="602" /></a></p> <p>I just can’t seem to get the right light to get pictures in this room so these pictures are pretty bad but here’s a picture of the tables ready to work on our Easter craft. The table is all Eastery and meanwhile…</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Ci--wtbZcq0/Uwewsjv9fXI/AAAAAAAAk9g/8dkPSolgMzo/s1600-h/DSCN5120%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN5120" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-5OyAnorKyCQ/Uwewttgk_RI/AAAAAAAAk9s/mEFfl8Gv26Y/w526-h395/DSCN5120_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN5120" width="526" /></a></p> <p>the living room is still decorated for Valentine’s day. I also have a collection of old candy boxes.<br />

but in case of fire I think I’d have to grab the Valentine’s that were created by my friends.<br />

I’ve recycled some pictures from previous years because it’s been too dreary to take any decent pictures. I’m sort of surprised at the amount of things I still have after my purge last year! That’s the name <a href="http://riversidestudios.blogspot.com" target="_blank">LaVerne</a> suggested for my daily record book I’m going to keep this year. I’m not a journaler or a diarist but I’m going to write in a ledger book what I did every day. It will be pretty much like blogging. I’ve been blogging on a fairly regular basis for quite a few years now and lately have not kept up with this blog. So that’s going to be my goal. Blog at least once a month but keep this “book of days”. I started it Jan 1st and have not missed a day so far…wink wink! I spent New Yrs Eve and New Yrs Day watching a marathon of The Walking Dead! I’m pretty sure I’m the only 66 yr old who watches this. I saw this online and it would be perfect for my shed. I probably have a better chance of a Zombie apocalypse than yard work. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-P6yRGo6QWwk/UscEZKEbJeI/AAAAAAAAkdY/r95t1he0FVc/s1600-h/funny-zombies-tools-weapon-yard%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="funny-zombies-tools-weapon-yard" border="0" height="394" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-fl4WDkZnNko/UscEZ6779sI/AAAAAAAAkdg/qeHTPC7GyzA/w526-h394/funny-zombies-tools-weapon-yard_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="funny-zombies-tools-weapon-yard" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Actually, that’s something I do hope do this year – more yard work. My quadriceps tendon is still weak and all it connects to, but my knee itself is doing good. I figure if I survived those surgeries and all summer in a brace I should be able to handle a few zombies…or yard work!</p> <p>I want to get Iris spayed soon. I’ve only put it off for three years just because she’s so skittish about outsiders (her term not mine <img alt="Smile" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nOPEL3kHv6M/UscEaiOyDCI/AAAAAAAAkdk/_LLm2gUBuy8/wlEmoticon-smile%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none;" />). That means she’ll need some help with the back steps at first…maybe Jeff will build a ramp for her.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-N63P-wSNR0U/UscEbmHPD4I/AAAAAAAAkdw/TafuK8x34nY/s1600-h/DSCN4679%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN4679" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Z2PTzNdDGv8/UscEcT4LE9I/AAAAAAAAkd4/HK5j6M6GrEc/w526-h395/DSCN4679_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN4679" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Basketball for my grandson Q starts up next week and I love watching him play. I really need to develop a love of the game because that’s where his heart is. He just has a “mind” that is perfect for baseball. As a freshman he’s had two letters from colleges asking to follow his “career!” I hope that turns into a scholarship for him.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-sYBP6r1Wxds/UscEfDcTGtI/AAAAAAAAkeM/bA55aWuX2Oc/s1600-h/q%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="q" border="0" height="350" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-l8obs3cS9y0/UscEf4_YpXI/AAAAAAAAkeY/bAjXnQovDVs/w526-h350/q_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="q" width="526" /></a></p> <p>He’s so darn cute!</p> <p>My other grandson and son vacated the upstairs and are now my neighbors! I actually tried last week and got distracted and now I can’t find that unfinished post. So shall<em> </em>I walk you through the past month in pictures? First up on a sad note both my Longhorns and Undefeated Buckeyes lost their game. We did have a good time getting together, wearing our shirts that my sons collaborated on. Longhorn + Buckeye = Buckhorn. hahaha<br />

Jeff finished the wall in the living room. He tore off the plasterboard and exposed the shiplap behind it. I noticed on Pinterest that people are buying old shiplap and covering their walls and this is behind all the walls in our living room. The rest of the house has bead board walls. I griped about the living room not having it until he finished the shiplap and I really like it.<br />

The past few years I have done the living room tree in mostly silver and the past few years I’ve not put up but one tree meaning all my favorite ornaments from decades past stayed in a box upstairs. This year I put it all one tree. I like it!!! This poor old tree is 18 years old and every year I plan to get a new one but I’m attached and would feel disloyal!<br />

Then I got ready for our YaYa Christmas get together. I wrapped their presents…<br />

We all went to the Texas Lutheran Choir’s program at St. Martins in Austin – it was sooo beautiful. Came back to my house for a gourmet dinner of tuna potato chip casserole and waldorf salad…nod to the 1960s! Then we had tea. <a href="http://riversidestudios.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">LaVerne</a> brought a fabulous tea from Spain or Portugal or some other country – who can keep up with the jetsetting crowd! Anyway it was wonderfully delicious.<br />

That’s pretty much it for me for December so far. Sorry <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Beverly</a> that I have been MIA for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a>. Do stop by her place if you want to see a beautiful Christmas home tour. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit all the Pinkie blogs this weekend. I wish you all a most blessed Christmas.<br />

This is pretty much how I spent yesterday. Last week I caught an awful cold and just when I thought it was going to get better…wham. It settled in my chest. So other than making a cranberry salad I didn’t cook anything. Jeff cooked the turkey, mashed potatoes, stovetop stuffing – yuk but I wasn’t eating it anyway – and some yams. No vegetables! And three of us ate on trays in the living room. He also made three pumpkin pies and something went wrong because one taste and they all went straight into the trash!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-AfP0BFRMhGw/UpgZu0H0wpI/AAAAAAAAkJg/foPbqyOHxUY/s1600-h/girls%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="girls" border="0" height="494" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-sgfVLt6rTq0/UpgZviJYNeI/AAAAAAAAkJo/PcZu7NlgdjE/w451-h494/girls_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="girls" width="451" /></a></p> <p>I haven’t a clue what went amiss because I wasn’t even supervising! Fortunately we had a backup apple pie that was delicious. After spending most of the day holed up with my steamy vaporizer I wandered out of the bedroom to watch a little of the Longhorn/Texas Tech game with the boys. Looks like it’s a win for the Longhorns. Lilly Louise was unable to stay awake for the game even though she is a Longhorn fan.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-g3nMptp1gY0/UpgZwb3kvVI/AAAAAAAAkJw/4peRAbESY8s/s1600-h/IMAG0138%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="IMAG0138" border="0" height="350" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-2Bw-NL4mmxA/UpgZxAOMLEI/AAAAAAAAkJ4/Eq7xgs5Xi58/w526-h350/IMAG0138_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMAG0138" width="526" /></a></p> <p>As you can sort of see the living room is not finished but I have high hopes it might be before Christmas. I hope you had a happy (and healthier than me) Thanksgiving. I’m going to join <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Beverly</a> at How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday and hopefully visit some of you guys. </p> Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16360786316003275471noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4241631347017153636.post-63077758923981444282013-11-01T13:28:00.001-05:002020-07-12T21:52:07.409-05:00Happy Dia de los Muertos<h3>I’m not a huge fan of the Dia de los Muertos stuff but I did a sampler swap a few years ago with a friend who is…</h3> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-77oCHInkKNw/UnPyqT8WFlI/AAAAAAAAj14/PqWbOuIcRV0/s1600-h/DSCN6446%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN6446" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-23ZN6NK1kV0/UnPyrVfjfZI/AAAAAAAAj2A/Cmz5Umz3ElY/w526-h395/DSCN6446_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN6446" width="526" /></a></p> <p>this is my pink rendition of a sugar skull. I do like the idea of a day of remembering and paying tribute to those who have passed on. If I remembered my sister I’d have to leave cigarettes on her shrine. She was a tiny thing and smoked since her teen years. And….that is what killed her. Lung cancer. Seven years ago this month. And….I miss her a lot. She lost a lot of weight for no reason. Her doctor checked tons of things and couldn’t find a reason. He didn’t do a chest xray. By the time she went to a different doctor who did a chest xray first thing…it was too late. She lived 9 months after she was diagnosed, dying the week of Thanksgiving. Enough about that.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-KkAEDxfix0I/UnPysZYYxbI/AAAAAAAAj2I/2c42T62qSPM/s1600-h/DSCN6447%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN6447" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-A7_gR7ZSeSg/UnPytaEAdOI/AAAAAAAAj2Q/RfkB6KTyob4/w526-h395/DSCN6447_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN6447" width="526" /></a></p> <p> </p> <p>Did you have any trick or treaters? I’m doing an altered tin swap and thinking it was due October 1st I finished it in September only to find out it wasn’t due until Nov 15th! </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-5erJqqUHfsw/UmrfnnuQUwI/AAAAAAAAjvQ/IXb4NFZF6Zg/s1600-h/DSCN4131%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN4131" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-9-9AzJn2Rvs/UmrfpqJnApI/AAAAAAAAjvY/-CLTJhlCBPA/w526-h395/DSCN4131_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN4131" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Have you ever done one of these? I had not and it isn’t easy so I did a lot of griping and stressing.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nFbL1hRJrgc/UmrfqpyTBZI/AAAAAAAAjvg/roFlh5ZqsGI/s1600-h/DSCN4130%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN4130" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-R1-7vVo9Vds/Umrfra7E1mI/AAAAAAAAjvo/XSMrDAJbq0A/w526-h395/DSCN4130_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN4130" width="526" /></a></p> <p>It’s a starry moonlit night on the front. M…M is for moon. And do you know what happens during a crescent moon? Fairies wash their panties!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nBICakxBSsE/UmrfsXYwjpI/AAAAAAAAjvw/6dmJiW3UpAE/s1600-h/DSCN4129%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSCN4129" border="0" height="394" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Pufc9oGZrAw/UmrftHHSGeI/AAAAAAAAjv4/lCExfH7FpEI/w526-h394/DSCN4129_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSCN4129" width="526" /></a></p> <p>And hang them out to dry! My friend MaryAnn has cancer and is undergoing chemo. MaryAnn hosts our Itty Bitty Book Club – one of my favorite things to do. Rhonda ( <a href="http://rhondamum.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Rhondamum</a> ) is putting together an IBB for MaryAnn and these are the two pages I made. Work in our living room is continuing and it’s a big giant mess so no decorations are out. These projects are small scale and perfect to work on right now as I am still working on strengthening my quad muscles. Therapy is going great and most of it is in a giant heated pool which feels great and makes the rehab a bit easier.</p> <p>Now I’m going to <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Beverly</a>’s blog and check out all your <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a> posts. xoxo Nancy</p> Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16360786316003275471noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4241631347017153636.post-31853352133664634262013-10-04T16:37:00.004-05:002020-07-12T21:57:30.872-05:00Vintage Market Faire<div style="text-align: left;">
I wanted to show some pictures as we're setting up for the Vintage Market Faire that's...tomorrow. Yikes - no time for anything except pictures. Not even time to edit these so you may see bags of stuff that shouldn't be there...like cords, windex, tags, beer cans so just ignore those! The gate opens Saturday at 9 a.m.</div>

You are all invited. We had quite a few of our blogger friends who came last time and it is soo much fun to meet some of you in person.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-vnUBOqQto1k/UkW9xJMm5-I/AAAAAAAAjnE/fvUk7mviwAI/s1600-h/vintage%252520Market%252520Faire%252520%252528791x1024%252529%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="vintage Market Faire (791x1024)" border="0" height="494" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-FV9LEVvlkNE/UkW9xxkg8HI/AAAAAAAAjnM/uFenJf_foPU/w382-h494/vintage%252520Market%252520Faire%252520%252528791x1024%252529_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="vintage Market Faire (791x1024)" width="382" /></a></p> <p>Here’s a sampling of some of our pink things…just for you <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Beverly</a> for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a>! </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Y01Ni3SKrxk/UkW9ynPss6I/AAAAAAAAjnU/_MuIOg_P8bg/s1600-h/pink%252520napkin%252520holders3%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="pink napkin holders3" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-t9fGJIpsGzg/UkW9zXuf1eI/AAAAAAAAjnc/qviB9WYZg8E/w526-h395/pink%252520napkin%252520holders3_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="pink napkin holders3" width="526" /></a></p> <p>And a link to our facebook for a look at lots more things. <a href="http://facebook.com/nancy.reeb" target="_blank">Here</a> and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/RioRustic" target="_blank">here</a>.</p> <p>We’ll be right here:</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-KIw-39NmP6o/UkW90XvzCyI/AAAAAAAAjnk/i3zC5iHDHk0/s1600-h/barn%252520sale2%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="barn sale2" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-11vkmex3bpQ/UkW91GDjgfI/AAAAAAAAjns/B6LePvvxL7Y/w523-h395/barn%252520sale2_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="barn sale2" width="523" /></a></p> <p>Hope to see you there! xo Nancy</p> Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16360786316003275471noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4241631347017153636.post-6562682864152026512013-09-20T19:19:00.001-05:002020-07-12T21:59:50.685-05:00Pink and Orange<p>About halfway between August 17 and September 18th <a href="http://riversidestudios.blogspot.com" target="_blank">LaVerne</a> and I were treated to a birthday dinner and surprise by Barbara and Judy at the ranch. They had a really adorable Halloween themed table set. AND we had gluten free pizza and Caesar salad which was totally delicious.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf2gGtQ0UID5wJg7PO4QYaWuJmdMXE3UzOftDr6CNNOgvfX7VYZWfb4UABhyphenhyphenCVtwYNF8ejOXoFGv8qctHNXUg5qU8ZYAeHVom-H0U9SMZNi2mWFkvNHafXlSjRPr7tZUS269-EBquwng6m/s1600-h/2013-09-07%252520001%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-09-07 001" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/--_ufhSLmTLE/Ujzl7A4H51I/AAAAAAAAjkg/VKljArMvvLI/w526-h395/2013-09-07%252520001_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-09-07 001" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Our “surprise” came after dinner when an artist from Gruene arrived to give us a painting class. She guided us step by step through the process of painting a pumpkin. After I got my background painted in I decided it was just too skinny. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-hI9NCfXHcnA/Ujzl71xf9ZI/AAAAAAAAjko/s5lsqVeNPnk/s1600-h/2013-09-07%252520015%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-09-07 015" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Y6BemB9y0-o/Ujzl8pvNFTI/AAAAAAAAjkw/ZufGHq0-OuA/w526-h395/2013-09-07%252520015_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-09-07 015" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Of course I wore <em>pink </em>since that’s one of my favorite colors…next to turquoise. Barbara is in the background – she is perpetually doing stuff for other people – like the mother in “A Christmas Story” who never gets to sit down to eat. </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipvyGvVO1rp8VJWGCpTU-fcAtRtl5rECNNL8yugyr8BPHOXtWVb7WmwBtdUSpRNNlN_MqBasYF0zrGGMS9xUE8PBxH41wsU7FvOJ7SIYRilhPecThqlt8ZjO_brxBU4y_3qnlO8eg5CJNe/s1600-h/2013-09-07%252520016%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-09-07 016" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-s1alSOPXyAQ/Ujzl-FVD6wI/AAAAAAAAjlA/-eLx63_BpDA/w526-h395/2013-09-07%252520016_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-09-07 016" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Ouch – LaVerne looks like that easel is in her nose!</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchzbmDOolPth3XIR7_5-PaB3nQKkkIcF9JlGMuubajcMzsw6oYckOVJC9he8ZkXd9Uocc0WySmiTBmU4aGlsc4cQkI33hIPQ0n_0ctEGD67GbPv2blGX3F2s8NaEZK0lsNsiCCDwsexrz/s1600-h/2013-09-07%252520022%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-09-07 022" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-FXo0HFBe6nE/Ujzl_7DM9oI/AAAAAAAAjlQ/LI6jnAf62vM/w526-h395/2013-09-07%252520022_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-09-07 022" width="526" /></a></p> <p>LaVerne and Judy – they could be sisters they look so much alike! Not that I’ve mentioned it but I’ve been in a leg brace all summer after I tore my quadriceps tendon less than a week after I had a knee replacement. <br />The good news is finally, after being unable to bend it for 2 months, I got to start therapy.<br /><br />
Here I am getting physical therapy. Okay sort of…it’s really more like…<br />
<br />
this! At least I got the brace off while they worked on my leg and even better was an okay after 4 weeks to shower without it. I had a major case of leg dandruff and scaly skin.<br />
<img height="393" src="http://www.geneseo.edu/%7Elewisj/Specialization/PT.jpg" width="400" /><br />
After not going anywhere for six weeks other than the hospital and doctor and therapy…I finally got to go to bunco – not to play but at least for dinner and to see my bunco buds. Plus, it was my turn to cohost and bring dessert and prizes. I was totally out of ideas for prizes so I bought those cushiony dish drying mats and a dishcloth and made a little poem I found online…author unknown. I have no idea if they liked them because I was gone by then since it was too hard to be able to get out of a chair 18 times with the <i>brace</i>! I wrapped a couple of them in pink just so I’d have something to blog about for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a>! <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-0Tr6wllulTY/UiFNkNTvN2I/AAAAAAAAjhs/gsqYlVgNVsU/s1600-h/2013-08-21%252520Brandon%252527s%252520birthday%252520005%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-08-21 Brandon's birthday 005" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-lpox4A93QLk/UiFNk5laGpI/AAAAAAAAjh0/K5x53pjHh0s/w526-h395/2013-08-21%252520Brandon%252527s%252520birthday%252520005_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-08-21 Brandon's birthday 005" width="526" /></a><br />
<br />
Then my darling grandson left for college. Sniff sniff! I had a few tears but then about an hour later the YaYa's arrived and brought all the goodies for tea.<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-bp-sF5urt_8/UiFNliqY99I/AAAAAAAAjh8/R5Df96l0k30/s1600-h/Off%252520to%252520college%252520011%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="Off to college 011" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-BacUb8aMXiY/UiFNmf27CQI/AAAAAAAAjiE/jz99meJLGXU/w466-h395/Off%252520to%252520college%252520011_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Off to college 011" width="466" /></a><br />
<br />
All I had to do was set the table….<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-uRJ50GCEL9o/UiFNnFYQoCI/AAAAAAAAjiM/zEK-_U_QN3I/s1600-h/teatime%252520003%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="teatime 003" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-TIRZfVJjSYE/UiFNnwV0nfI/AAAAAAAAjiU/lU6X2d8vZ5U/w526-h395/teatime%252520003_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="teatime 003" width="526" /></a><br />
and they brought an amazing array of tea goodies and <br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-bkIZPwnz8sI/UiFNopVIKMI/AAAAAAAAjic/t0bY0vDdb6E/s1600-h/048%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="048" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-5Wdz6MxCtzA/UiFNpWjk8eI/AAAAAAAAjik/WvCEf_6g_-o/w526-h395/048_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="048" width="526" /></a><br />
of course some sort of “rita” as in Marga which was delish! Oh my gosh I love these girls.<br />
They have all been so wonderful through my whole ordeal bringing some amazing meals. Here’s LaVerne celebrating her birthday with the YaYa paparazzi. Actually next weekend there’s some sort of Aug/Sept birthday surprise for LaVerne and me but this was one day after LaVerne’s birthday so why pass up a chance to celebrate. Right?<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-VTamfurZI_4/UiFNqOquhDI/AAAAAAAAjis/YbCU4f3ztVs/s1600-h/058%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="058" border="0" height="299" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nuXIpScH3qA/UiFNq8ADofI/AAAAAAAAji0/go03h4ANKdM/w526-h299/058_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="058" width="526" /></a><br />
So the next weekend it was my son’s birthday and we drove down to pick up the grandson for a birthday lunch with his dad. <br />
<br />

I was thrilled to see him since it had been <i>a whole week</i>!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-dZkuLFBP09w/UiFNtvtTQAI/AAAAAAAAjjI/Uo3eyu67FGk/s1600-h/2013-08-24%252520Brandon%252527s%252520birthday%252520003%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-08-24 Brandon's birthday 003" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-CSvt2qHec24/UiFNuG8jC7I/AAAAAAAAjjQ/YDBcoIqSva8/w526-h395/2013-08-24%252520Brandon%252527s%252520birthday%252520003_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-08-24 Brandon's birthday 003" width="526" /></a><br />
Then after about 3 weeks of therapy at my checkup at the Drs I got the best news……..<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-HexjxcL1RXg/UiFNu7v4QRI/AAAAAAAAjjc/Ej-VQvNG_EU/s1600-h/2013-08-29%252520brace%252520004A%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2013-08-29 brace 004A" border="0" height="393" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/--ZhV5mpVwqQ/UiFNvVvlgBI/AAAAAAAAjjk/sTOfgp7-Hl8/w526-h393/2013-08-29%252520brace%252520004A_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2013-08-29 brace 004A" width="526" /></a><br />
No more brace. I did so well in therapy I was far ahead of what he expected. I sort of felt like I had a jello leg and walked sort of wobbly but oh my gosh I was so thrilled. And today I started pool therapy and it felt sooo fabulous. Too bad I can’t walk around in a water bubble ‘cause it just felt so easy! Still have a long way to go but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Why have I never thought of water exercising? I love the place I’m going – the water is like 89 degrees – perfect for achiness plus it’s pretty and better yet they have two dogs running around the rehab part. I love places that have pets!<br />

AND!!!!!!!! tomorrow is the start of college football – the Buckeyes are playing at eleven and the Longhorns at two! To top it off, it’s been<i> an entire week</i> since we’ve seen the grandson and he came home today to go to his old high school’s first football game so he’ll be here until Monday.<br />
That’s it for me.<br />
xoxo & Adios<br />

I thought I was a total homebody/hermit but I’ve discovered….ummm….not so much. I’ve done nothing since June 7th. If I didn’t have doctor appointments I’d totally have no social life! So I’ve been feeling rather……</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-nOj4WdZNny8/UfvzOp0ku5I/AAAAAAAAjd0/kzOTxPz-gSE/s1600-h/profile%252520011%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="profile 011" border="0" height="387" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-RW_OProv7Xo/UfvzPKD-DrI/AAAAAAAAjd8/NDsB1zhioGc/w442-h387/profile%252520011_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="profile 011" width="442" /></a></p> <p>(If I’m feeling blue I figure it might as well be turquoise since it’s my fave shade of blue) filling my time with important things like taking pictures of myself. (Actually I was uploading a picture to Eye Buy Direct to virtually try on glasses). Since it’s time for <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Pink Saturday</a> I thought I’d see what I could come up with to join up with <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Beverly</a> at How Sweet The Sound. Here are some pages for an upcoming Itty Bitty Book I’m working on.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-8S7pFTVRqdU/UfvzP9W4rKI/AAAAAAAAjeE/TmdPWxL2qA8/s1600-h/mermaid%252520owl%252520029%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="393" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-exV3OsSuV0o/UfvzQgimD_I/AAAAAAAAjeM/mtXmjaQEHcg/w515-h393/mermaid%252520owl%252520029_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="" width="515" /></a></p> <p>I had to add some pink, naturally. The theme is “Mermaids” and there should be about 20 pages to it shaped like a shell. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nx9TfXlPCd0/UfvzRryiGXI/AAAAAAAAjeU/CNJ_Ce-jJ5A/s1600-h/mermaid%252520owl%252520025%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-BIIRq4Ej5yk/UfvzSdVxwlI/AAAAAAAAjec/38O231H2UWo/w526-h395/mermaid%252520owl%252520025_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="" width="526" /></a></p> <p>Unable to go to Michael’s or Hobby Lobby I had to use all the bits of this and that I had laying around. Aren’t those two little mermaids playing ball with a jewel just the cutest? But a tiny page will only hold so much in the way of toomuchtimeonmyhands so I worked on pages for a second book for the IBB club….”Owls”.</p> <p> </p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Xq3UYd-tsLc/UfvzTaUVqpI/AAAAAAAAjek/rcK3USV6fLk/s1600-h/mermaid%252520owl%252520020%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="395" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-X7AEuvGioEU/UfvzURAm2gI/AAAAAAAAjeo/IS4nDkb8Jv0/w526-h395/mermaid%252520owl%252520020_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="" width="526" /></a> <p> </p> <p>Each little part of the “heart” owls is computer generated right down to the flirty little eyelashes. Truly, you can never have too many dingbats in your collection. I used to feel that way about dishes but realized that storage space eventually reaches a limit!</p> <p>And then there are days that I never get online. Seriously! And I missed two important birthdays last week. So here’s a belated birthday wish to Dana at The <a href="http://thestonerabbit.typepad.com">Stone Rabbit</a> and to <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com" target="_blank">Beverly our Pink hostess</a>! Six years ago I had my right knee done and two days before I broke two toes on the opposite leg. I won’t go into a whole diatribe about how miserable that was because I have a whole new list of things to gripe about. So three weeks ago I had my left knee operation – six days after that during physical therapy I heard a loud POP which the therapist seemed to think it was nothing serious. HA…turns out after a lot of grief and pain and MRI’s the quadricep tendon had torn. That meant that I had to have major surgery again two days ago. Forget knee rehab for now – I’m unable to even think about doing that for I don’t know how long. I’m in a locking brace for at least six weeks and absolutely cannot bend my knee or it will tear again.</p> <h1> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-abZJW8yT4MY/UdczE0MLuNI/AAAAAAAAjcQ/DADBGhx6dgg/s1600-h/brace9.jpg"><img alt="brace" border="0" height="274" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/--FkyGqutlxY/UdczFmMs9GI/AAAAAAAAjcY/SBiRWG1969Y/w412-h274/brace_thumb7.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="brace" width="412" /></a></h1> <p>So as I said – brace yourself. I’m changing the name of this blog to My Crabby Little Page because that’s what I am. CRABBY, crappy….and that’s what I’ll be doing on here for a while. Crabbing. And don’t go nominating me for Inspirational and Positive Attitude Blog of The Year because I just won’t accept. If you are looking for a place to gripe you’ve come to the right place…tell me your tale of woe in the comments because – hey – misery loves company. I’m joining <a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com" target="_blank">Beverly’s Pink Saturday</a> even though it’s hard to be cranky when Pink is involved!</p> <p>xoxo Miserable Self Pitying Nan</p> Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16360786316003275471noreply@blogger.com6
